Description

I so love Johnny..So i had to draw him again as the one and only Jack Sparrow..
He was drawn with fine and ultra fine and large sharpie markers, on white heavy card stock paper to stop the sharpie bleed..
Hope you enjoy him as much as i did drawing him..:)

When I first saw your picture I thought it was a photo you altered in Photoshop or some other program since everything - the anatomy, his face and expression, all the details in hiw clothes - are so perfect that it's ahrd to believe that this a drawing and not a photo.

So, let's begin. Technique:
What is really stunning on your picture is that you managed to capture him so perfectly with only black and white - no colors, no shading, just black and white. You need to draw very exact and with tons of skill to get a picture look right with this style. The most astonishing part of your picture is his face. With clothes it is not that bad if a fold is not exactely like it should be. But everyone would notice instantly if there's something wrong with the face. And you did not only manage to get his face right but also to create his typical jack Sparrow pose.
The only thing I could say to the anatomy part is that his left thumb (from his hand without saber) looks a bit strange.

Style:
The effect you create with your style is amazing. The strong contrast between the black and white and the sharp edges without shading or blurring between the black and white is great. It's as if he's standing somewhere in complete darkness with a sudden lightning or spotlight aimed at him.

As a very big fan of him (Johnny as well as Jack) I can say that I really love the expression on his face - as always you do not know if he is curious, plans something or is scared <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b…" width="15" height="15" alt=":D" title=":D (Big Grin)"/>

The longer I look at this work the more it fascinates me. When I look close at it I see that it consists only of small and large black dots on white paper. But all these dots are masterfully ordered and let the image of our beloved Jack Sparrow rise out of them in front of our eyes. It's not an optical illusion but it shows you how much your eyes and your brain are capable of if they are shown the right thing.
